Travel

During the Summer of 2019, I traveled to Japan and explored from Osaka, to Fuji, to Aokigahara (chilled to the bone from camping so close to Fuji at night, it took 3 hours with a solar lantern to hike out of the forest. General sense of direction and vehicle sounds helped me navigate.) to Fujiyoshida, to Tsuru, to Tokyo, to Shikoku (from Yawatahama, to Ozu, To Taki Kawa ViIllage 白滝公園, to Matsuyama), then back to Osaka.

Several months later, Fall 2019, I returned to Japan, and proceeded to break my knee. I was jogging, listening to high-volume music with Soundcore Liberty Air wireless headphones, and attempted a jump down a flight of tiny-stepped stairs. Equilibrium was thrown off due to the excessive music volume, and my tibia was fractured and went to the hospital to receive medical care. My leg had extreme swelling and I had to fly back to the United States to have a corrective external fixator installed.

My third flight back was to pay the remaining hospital bill in person with yen, as was deemed one of the only ways necessary, once I was capable of walking without crutches.
